I awake in the morning now grateful not to be as I was months ago when the mornings came with no sun and only the need for another drink. Only after a drink did the day begin. I painstakingly and slowly sobered up and after a week was strong enough to get to a AA meeting. Shaking and unable to speak clearly I asked someone if they knew of anyone that would be able to sponsor me. The man said,  "Well let's get a cup of coffee and talk."

We sat with coffee, my hands shaking, barely able to hold the cup and that's when N8-Man became my sponsor. And that's when my life and mornings changed.

He would say, "Be good to yourself; Take things as they come; slow down." He helped me not to beat up on myself and be so hard on me. N8-Man helped me through the Twelve Steps and today we are finishing them for the second time. My sponsor saved my life. My sponsor is my best friend, a friend that I would never have met in any gang or bar scene. I am grateful for the AA program (not mine) and GOD, as well as all who help me out everyday to remain strong and sober. Most of all I am grateful for my corner Man N8-Man. Thank You Bro
